Marshall Swadron presents paper at Law Society estates practice program

September 10, 2019 - Toronto - Marshall Swadron spoke today at the Law Society of Ontario's program: Practice Gems: Administration of Estates 2019. The purpose of the talk was to present a paper he and Arooba Shakeel of Swadron Associates had co-written entitled Avoiding Limitations-related Claims in Estate Administration. The paper covered the limitation periods for challenging a will, for making dependant relief claims and for making claims by or against an estate. The paper also discussed whether limitation periods are applicable to applications to pass accounts.

The paper was presented as part of a panel on avoiding claims together with Jordan Atin of Hull & Hull LLP and Ray Leclair, Vice-President, Public Affairs of Lawyers Professional Indemnity Program (LawPRO). The Law Society's program had over 300 attendees in person and by webcast.
