Swadron Associates welcomes new associate
July 4, 2022 - Toronto - Swadron Associates is extremely pleased to announce that Matías Contreras León has joined the firm as an associate lawyer following his recent call to the Bar.
Matías attended Osgoode Hall Law School and was a summer and articling student at criminal defence firm Hicks Adams LLP. Prior to attending law school, Matías completed an undergraduate degree at Smith College in Massachusetts and worked for a number of years as a tenant advocate and supportive housing manager in San Francisco and Vancouver.
At law school, Matías was awarded the Wendy Babcock Social Justice Award for his commitment to community service and social justice, including serving as a caseworker and division leader with the student-run law clinic, Community and Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP) and a caseworker for Innocence Canada. He was also co-president of Osgoode OUTLaws and managed the school’s chapter of Pro Bono Students Canada.
