Ameena Sultan to Join Firm in June

TORONTO - May 10, 2005 - Swadron Associates is pleased to announce that Ameena Sultan has accepted a position with the firm. Ameena received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in political science and human biology. She graduated with distinction from McGill University Faculty of Law and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2002. Ameena articled and practiced in a trade union environment before opening her own immigration and refugee law practice in Toronto in 2003. She has a strong background in social justice advocacy and speaks French and Arabic fluently. Earlier this year she addressed the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration on behalf of the Canadian Arab Federation respecting proposed amendments to the Citizenship Act. Ameena will continue to develop her practice in the fields of administrative and civil litigation.
