Marshall Swadron Speaks at Canadian Bar Association Conference

TORONTO - May 13, 2005 - Marshall Swadron spoke today at the Canadian Bar Association National Elder Law Conference, Planning For Later Life: Legal, Financial And Social Challenges of Aging. Speaking together with Arthur Fish of Borden Ladner Gervais, the talk looked at the physical and psychological changes related to aging with particular emphasis on matters of capacity and consent and how they are determined. Societal tendencies toward overprotection, ageism and paternalism, including innocent abuses were also discussed.
