Witness Protection in the News

Barry has served as counsel to many protected witnesses in matters of municipal, provincial and federal jurisdiction. He appeared as a witness before The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs in its hearings prior to the passage of the federal Witness Protection Program Act enacted in 1996.
Witness protection continues to be an important issue, brought home recently by media disclosures of the identity of one of the main Crown witnesses in the ongoing trial respecting the bombing of Air India flight 182. CBC Radio 1 broadcasts on FM 99.1 in Toronto.
